She has over 30 years of dance training experience. Dr. Banda began dancing at the age of 3 at McMillan School of Dance and grew to love the art of dance throughout her life. She performed in her high school dance team, college dance team, and became an NBA G-League dancer in the RGV.

While pursuing her career in teaching, she was fortunate to land a job as a high school dance team director. While director, she coordinated local summer dance camps in the RGV and attended regional, state, and national dance competitions. She has coached over 300 dancers throughout the years and continues to do so throughout the RGV, as a dance consultant.

After obtaining her Master of Education and Doctor of Education degrees, she was blessed with an opportunity to develop a studio focused on competitive dancing. She has created a dance literacy curriculum and will be choreographing routines for SBSDS to prepare the dancers for upcoming camps and competitions. As the dance director, she will also have an opportunity to train them to become skilled dancers and encourage them to audition for their elementary, middle school, high school, and college dance teams and even beyond.

Dr. Banda’s hope is to bring the love of dance back into the community and schools and encourage all dancers to share their gifts and talents of dance with the world. Dr. Banda also strives to bring back the core values of dance by implementing faith, integrity, respect, and teamwork to all of her dancers. She believes that being on a dance team is not only about dancing, rather it is about learning how to become strong, respectful, successful, and resilient young ladies in all areas of their life.

35 years of dance experience and choreographing including:

~ 16 years of technical dance training (ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap)

~1 year as an NBA G-League dancer

~ 7 years as a high school dance director.

* 7 time Award Winning Best Choreography winner at the regional, state and national level

~11 years as a dance consultant (middle school, high school, college dancers and has prepared dancers to audition for the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.
